Our Programs

SAL provides scholars with: 

​Financial support: University tuition (max 5 years), Living cost for 1st year, Emergency medical / life crisis, Nutritional care​.

Mentoring program: Each scholar is matched with a mentor & scheduled for regular mentoring sessions. 

Community Engagement Programs: Designed to support students in developing social skills and fostering a strong SAL community.

Training programs: Designed to shed light on any questions the scholars may have about academics, life skills and their future careers through social work activities, workshops, and field trips.

Career opportunities: Graduated qualified scholars are welcome to career opportunities at N.H.O and partner companies. We support scholars with job search skills including career orientation, CV feedback and mock interviews.

Mentoring Program

Walking together, growing together.

Each scholar is matched with a mentor & scheduled for regular mentoring sessions.

Purpose. To provide continuous personal and academic support for SAL scholars through meaningful mentor-mentee relationships, fostering growth, guidance, and a spirit of giving back.
Activities. Each scholar is paired with an experienced mentor for monthly one-on-one meetings to share about life, studies, achievements, and challenges. Mentors also join mentees in various SAL activities, creating shared experiences that strengthen their connection beyond formal mentoring.
Outcomes. Scholars gain valuable insights, confidence, and direction in both their academic and personal journeys. The program cultivates lasting bonds within the SAL community and inspires mentees to one day become mentors themselves, continuing the cycle of growth and support.

Training Programs

Learning that shapes confidence, character, and leadership.

Designed to shed light on any questions the scholars may have about academics, life skills and their future careers through social work activities, workshops, and field trips.
Purpose. SAL Workshops are organized annually to foster continuous innovation in both theme and approach, with the goal of enhancing leadership skills and nurturing the personal growth of every scholar.
Activities. Each session offers engaging and practical learning experiences through discussions, debates, brainstorming, and role-playing activities. These methods encourage students to explore their values, understand themselves better, and develop essential life skills.
Outcomes. Through these interactive workshops, SAL scholars become more confident, self-aware, and proactive - equipped with the mindset and capabilities to lead, collaborate effectively, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Scholarship Ceremony & City tour for new scholars

Purpose. The Award Ceremony formally recognizes new scholars and presents them with their scholarships, while also serving as a platform to introduce the SAL Scholarship Program to partners and company employees.
Activities. This ceremony is accompanied by bonding activities organized by previous cohorts, including welcome tours, team-building events, and networking sessions that help integrate new scholars into the community.
Outcomes. Beyond celebrating achievements, the event strengthens awareness of SAL’s values and impact, while also helping new scholars adapt to university life and build meaningful connections from the very beginning of their journey.

Summer trip

Purpose. The SAL Summer Trip is organized annually to strengthen the sense of community among scholars and mentors while fostering teamwork, leadership, and personal growth beyond the classroom.
Activities. Through a variety of engaging outdoor experiences such as physical challenges, team games, and group bonding activities, participants are encouraged to collaborate, communicate, and support one another.
Outcomes. The trip allows scholars to form lasting friendships, develop essential soft skills, and create unforgettable memories together, reinforcing the warmth, unity, and spirit of the SAL community.

Sports Day

Purpose. To promote physical well-being, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among SAL scholars through engaging and interactive sports activities.
Activities. An annual day filled with team sports, fun challenges, and friendly competitions where scholars participate actively, collaborate in teams, and cheer for one another.
Outcomes. The event strengthens camaraderie, builds trust, and nurtures sportsmanship within the SAL community, creating lasting memories and reinforcing the spirit of unity and mutual support.

Culture Exchange

Purpose. To foster cross-cultural understanding and leadership development by connecting SAL scholars with Korean members through meaningful cultural interactions.
Activities. The event features shared activities, cultural presentations, and interactive showcases where participants exchange traditions, ideas, and experiences while practicing communication and leadership skills.
Outcomes. Scholars gain greater cultural awareness, global perspective, and confidence in international communication, celebrating diversity and building lasting friendships across cultures.
