Selection criteria

Potential to succeed in higher education based on a proven record of academic excellence and responsibility.

Qualified recommendation letter from teachers from students’ high schools.

Compassion and a desire to impact their community, demonstrated through their service and contribution toward social causes.

Strong moral character (humility, passion, wisdom).
-
Yearly family income.
-
Special conditions (single-parent family, orphan, disability, ethnic minority, students from rural areas with little access to quality education).

Scholarship benefits

Financial support: SAL scholarship will support: University tuition (max 5 years), Living cost for first year, Emergency medical / life crisis, Nutritional care.

Mentoring Program: Each scholar is matched with a mentor & scheduled for regular mentoring sessions.

Community Engagement Programs: Designed to support students in developing social skills and fostering a strong SAL community.

Training programs: Designed to shed light on any questions the scholars may have about academics, soft skills and their future careers through social work activities, workshops, and field trips.

Career opportunities: Graduated qualified scholars are welcome to career opportunities at N.H.O and partner companies. We support scholars with job search skills including career orientation, CV feedback and mock interviews.

Commitments to maintain scholarship
Every August, the Scholarship Committee will review the eligibility for the scholarship renewal of next year's SAL Scholarship for students based on the following criteria:

Minimum GPA of 7.0/10.0 (equal to 2.8/4.0)

Positive mentor evaluation

Improved English capability from evaluation

Active participation in social activities

Maintained good attitude & characters

Timeline & process
SAL Scholarship application is usually open from May-July annually.
Application open
Candidate screening
SAL Scholarship Committee review and score the applications, including academic & extracurricular achievements, personal essays & recommendation letters to select candidates for the interview round.
Interview round
SAL Scholarship Committee conduct in-person interviews for candidates based in HCMC & online interviews for those from other provinces.
Final selection & result announcement
In August-September, the Scholarship Committee will go through a rigorous selection process to decide the most deserving candidates to receive the SAL Scholarship.
Application guidelines
Step 1: Complete the scholarship application form & recommendation letter.
Step 2: Submit the following documents via email: csr@nhojsc.vn by July 7th, 2026:

Photos or scanned copy of full High school records.

A photo of student house (in front).

Award certificates from high school (if any).
Step 3: Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in an assessment followed by an interview with the SAL Scholarship Board.

University/college acceptance letter.

Tuition of university/college announcement.
