The story of SAL
SAL carries a meaningful dual symbolism. As an acronym, it stands for Serve, Achieve, Lead - representing the core values we hope to nurture in each scholar: a spirit of service, a drive for achievement, and the capacity to lead with integrity and purpose. At the same time, SAL also echoes Salt and Light. Being "salt and light" means standing out in a good way by showing kindness, honesty, and respect. Students can use their actions to positively influence others and help create a better community.
SAL's Journey
SAL Scholarship was born from a heartfelt belief at the very foundation of N.H.O, that those who once received support should give back to the next generation. Many of N.H.O’s leaders experienced the power of education and encouragement in their youth, and these experiences inspired the creation of the SAL Scholarship in October 2020, as one of the very first initiatives of the company’s CSR department. Since then, SAL has grown into more than just a scholarship. It is a nurturing ground for high school students from all walks of life and academic disciplines to connect, share, and grow together. At its core, SAL is a community built on empathy, purpose, and shared leadership.
