Some mornings in the border areas of An Giang begin long before sunrise.
While many places are still quiet, students are already on their way to school, carrying not only their books but also the everyday challenges of life.
In the mountainous border regions of An Giang Province, many families continue to face financial hardship, making the journey to school far from easy. During high school—a time when students need support to shape their aspirations and prepare for the future—these challenges can make pursuing an education feel even more difficult.
For the past three years, the N.H.O Scholarship Program, in partnership with the An Giang Department of Education and Training, has stood alongside these students. The program has supported hundreds of young people who have shown determination in overcoming hardship, especially students from ethnic minority communities living in the province's mountainous and border areas.
In 2025, the scholarship program continued its journey across nine high schools in An Giang Province: Long Bình Secondary & High School, An Phú High School, Ba Chúc High School, Châu Phong High School, Chi Lăng High School, Cô Tô Secondary & High School, Nguyễn Trung Trực High School, Tịnh Biên High School, and Xuân Tô High School.

A total of 69 scholarships, along with gifts worth nearly VND 165 million, were awarded to students. Appreciation gifts were also presented to teachers from all nine schools as a heartfelt thank-you for their continued support and dedication throughout the years.
On September 19, 2025, the scholarship award ceremony was held at Tịnh Biên High School. Following the presentation, students attended a workshop titled "Building a Safer Future – Preventing Human Trafficking." The session was led by Ms. Lại Thị Bích Ngọc, Master of Social Work and CSR team member at N.H.O.
For many students living in border communities, the workshop addressed issues that are closely connected to their daily lives. It helped them better understand potential risks they may encounter and equipped them with practical knowledge to protect themselves and make informed decisions.
Some impacts can be seen immediately—like the scholarships placed into students' hands. Others are quieter but just as meaningful, such as a student beginning to believe that they can continue their education despite difficult circumstances. Sometimes, the greatest value of a scholarship is not the moment it is awarded, but the confidence and hope it inspires afterward.

The journey of the N.H.O Scholarship Program in An Giang continues, growing alongside each new generation of students and reaffirming the belief that education has the power to change not only one child's future, but also the future of an entire family.
