CHRISTMAS FOR EVERY CHILD 2025 | N.H.O BRINGS THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS TO OMI SHELTER

December arrives with cool weather and the familiar melodies of Christmas. For N.H.O volunteers, it also marks a special annual tradition - spending the holiday season with the children at OMI Shelter – Búng Parish.
On December 20, N.H.O visited the shelter and organized a Christmas celebration for 76 boys who are being cared for there. From early in the morning, the shelter was filled with excitement as volunteers and the children worked together to clean, paint, and decorate the handwashing area. Familiar walls were transformed with bright colors and cheerful illustrations, creating a more welcoming and vibrant space.
The laughter continued in the courtyard as the children took part in a variety of team games that combined physical activities with fun challenges. Small prizes brought big smiles, while the coloring corner quickly became a favorite spot where the children enthusiastically filled their drawings of animals with their own creativity.
As lunchtime approached, volunteers and the children headed to the kitchen to prepare a homemade meal together. After lunch, the children also helped clean up and wash the dishes, learning simple yet meaningful daily life skills through shared activities.
Perhaps the most anticipated moment of the day came when Christmas gifts were handed to each child. Every gift was carefully prepared as a small message of love, hope, and holiday cheer from the N.H.O team. Bright smiles and shy but heartfelt hugs made the celebration even warmer and more meaningful.
The day ended with everyone singing familiar Christmas songs together. The joyful voices of the children, joined by the laughter of the volunteers, created a truly memorable celebration filled with warmth and happiness.
