433 USED BATTERIES COLLECTED AT N.H.O IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2026

A battery may be just a few centimeters in size, but when disposed of improperly, it can have a much bigger impact than its size suggests.

Used batteries contain heavy metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium, along with other potentially harmful substances. When thrown away with regular household waste, these substances can enter the soil and water, affecting ecosystems and potentially harming human health.

That’s why used batteries should not be treated like regular waste. Collecting them separately and sending them for proper treatment is an important step in reducing their impact on the environment.

Since 2022, N.H.O has been collecting used batteries at its headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City. Collection boxes are placed around the office, making it easy for employees to drop off batteries after they are no longer in use.

In the first half of 2026, N.H.O collected 433 used batteries and contributed them to Biti’s “Collect Used Batteries, Grow Forests” project, helping ensure they are properly treated and recycled.

Behind these 433 batteries is a small change in a familiar habit: instead of throwing them away with regular waste, each person takes a little extra time to dispose of them properly.

Through these simple actions at work, N.H.O hopes to encourage more responsible use of resources and greater awareness of the long-term impact our everyday choices can have on the environment.
